What is nice, it costs very little, although it has modest characteristics, but it will be enough for watering a garden or providing water with a pair of taps.

The submersible pump Kid has a low price, it is suitable for pumping clean water. It is better for them not to pump heavily polluted water - it will quickly burn out. It is used in the following cases:

  • for watering the garden;
  • for collecting water in storage tanks;
  • for water supply at home, but with certain restrictions (more on this below).

The kid can pump water from a well, a natural source - a pond, river, lake. It is suitable for dispensing water from containers. It can also be used for wells, but with reservations. Since the pump type is vibrational, it creates vibrations in the water column, lifting the smallest particles (silt, clay, sand) from the bottom and sucking them in. If in the case of a well this does not threaten anything except opaque water, then when using the Kid pump in the well, it can quickly silt up. In any case, this is the widespread opinion.

Manufacturers in their recommendations for use indicate the minimum diameter of a well or borehole - 90-100 cm, some models (Kid 3) can work in sources with a diameter of 70-75 cm. Nevertheless, they are also used in very narrow wells. The main thing is that he goes there. But at the same time, it beats against the walls of the well, creating additional vibration, and threatening to split the casing or damage its own body. To reduce beats, rubber rings are put on the body (pictured above). They solve the problem.

Manufacturers

The name "Kid" and "Trickle" has long become a household name. This is what they call today small submersible vibration pumps. Initially, they were produced exclusively in Russia or in the near abroad, but today there are plenty of Chinese "Babies" on the market. In general, there are several manufacturers of such pumps in Russia:

  • In the city of Livny in the Oryol region and in Bavleni Vladimirskaya, it is the Babies that are released. Most come with an upper intake, Little M - with a lower intake.
  • Babies are also produced in Klimovsk, Moscow Region.
  • In Kursk and Kirov (Lepse plant) pumps of the same type are produced, but under different names - Aquarius.
  • Rodnichki is produced in Bryansk (the Topol enterprise). With the same name, submersible pumps are produced in Chelyabinsk, as well as the Zubr company.
  • Trickle units are produced in Mogilev (Belarus).

The rest of the brands are Chinese. How to determine? Carefully review the packaging and passport. If it is a Russian manufacturer, there must be an address, company name, list of service departments, etc. If this information is not available, this product is originally from the DPRK.

Specifications

As already mentioned, Malysh submersible pumps have a low power - mainly about 250 W, that is, he is not able to create high pressure. Their clones with other names can be found a little more powerful.

What is also important - the lifting height is how far the water can be pumped. In technical characteristics, it should be more than what you need by about 20%.

Pay attention to the power supply for which this model is designed. Usually this is 200 V with possible small deviations of the order of 5%, but the realities are such that there may be 240 V in the network, and at this voltage a pump with such characteristics will burn out. The way out is to install a stabilizer or look for a model with a higher operating voltage (lowering from the worker does not have such a negative effect on work - the power decreases).

Another important indicator is performance. It is usually indicated in liters per minute or per second. This value shows how much water the unit is able to pump under normal conditions. For this type of equipment, this figure is quite small - about 400 ml / sec. Such a submersible pump Kid can provide water to one point of water intake - one irrigation hose or tap in the house. He is not capable of anything more without additional equipment.

Each type of pump is presented with a different length of the electrical cord and this changes the price (the longer the cord, the more expensive). You can also find varieties with dry run protection, but you can do it yourself (see below).

Submersible pump The kid is suspended on a synthetic rope. Metal rope or wire is quickly destroyed by vibration. Their use is possible if a synthetic cable is tied at the bottom - at least 2 meters. There are lugs in the upper part of the case to secure it. The end of the cable is threaded through them and carefully secured. The unit is located at least 10 cm from the pump body so that it does not get sucked in. The cut edges are melted to prevent the rope from unraveling.

A supply hose is put on the pump outlet. Its inner diameter should be slightly less (by a couple of millimeters) than the diameter of the pipe. A hose that is too narrow creates additional stress, which causes the unit to burn out faster.

Installation of flexible rubber or polymer hoses, as well as plastic or metal pipes of a suitable diameter is allowed. When using pipes, the pump is connected to them with a piece of flexible hose at least 2 meters long.

The hose is secured to the branch pipe with a metal clamp. Usually a problem arises here: the hose jumps off from constant vibrations. To prevent this from happening, the outer surface of the branch pipe can be processed with a file, giving it additional roughness. You can also make a groove for the clamp, but don't get carried away too much. It is better to use a stainless steel clamp with notches - it gives additional rigidity to the mount.

Preparation and descent

The installed hose, cable and electric cable are pulled together, installing constrictions. The first is placed at a distance of 25-30 cm from the body, all the others are placed in steps of 1-2 meters. Bindings can be made from duct tape, plastic ties, pieces of synthetic twine, etc.The use of metal wire or clamps is prohibited - they rub the sheaths of the cord, hose or the twine itself when vibrated.

A crossbar is installed on the head of the well or well, for which the cable will be attached. The second option is a hook on the side wall.

The prepared pump is carefully lowered to the required depth. Here, too, questions arise: at what depth to install the submersible pump Kid. The answer is twofold. First, the distance from the water mirror to the top of the case should be no more than the immersion depth of the given model. For the "Malysh" of the Topol company it is 3 meters, for the PATRIOT unit - 10 meters. Secondly, there must be at least a meter to the bottom of a well or well. This is in order not to disturb the water too much.

If the Kid's submersible pump is installed in a well, it should not touch the walls. When installed in a well, a rubber snap ring is put on the body.

After lowering the pump to the required depth, the cable is fixed to the crossbar. Please note: the entire mass must fall on the cable, not on the hose or cable. To do this, when fastening, the twine is pulled, and the cord and hose are slightly loosened.

The best option is a piece of thick rubber that can withstand the stress (weight and vibration). The use of springs is undesirable.

You can operate the submersible pump Kid in a horizontal position. Its preparation is the same - put on a hose, fasten everything with ties. Only then should the body be wrapped with a rubber sheet 1-3 mm thick.

Once the pump is submerged, it can be turned on and operated. It does not require any additional measures (filling and lubrication). It cools down with the help of pumped water, which is why switching on without water has an extremely bad effect on it: the motor overheats and can burn out.

Features of operation

Some models of submersible vibration pumps for wells have overheating protection. This is a very useful feature to prevent motor burnout. During prolonged operation or in case of violation of operating conditions, the built-in thermal relay (overheating protection) opens the power circuit, turning off the pump. After a while, the relay returns to its original state and the work resumes.

If your pump has shut down due to overheating, it is advisable to immediately find out the reason. Disconnection can be caused by lack of water, increased voltage. If so, start up the equipment only when everything is back to normal. Another possible cause is a clogged suction pipe. This can only be dealt with by taking out the pump, disassembling and cleaning it, which is contraindicated during the warranty period. Although, if your pump is clogged, you have already violated the operating rules - it is suitable for pumping only clean water.

Since many Baby models cannot be lowered below three meters from the water mirror, with a low flow rate, there is a threat that the water will run out, and the pump will continue to work and as a result will burn out. To avoid this situation, you can install a water level sensor. This is a float sensor, which is also called a "frog". It works very simply:

Having assembled this circuit, you need to configure the pressure switch. It is asked the less, the better, otherwise the Kid will not have enough power. But even with a slight pressure, everything will work on the strength of a couple of years, but rather - a year and a half.

What to do to make it work longer

Malysh pumps cost very little, but they do not last long - about 2-3 years. In their production, inexpensive materials are used - to reduce costs. If you carry out some activities immediately after the purchase, as well as carry out regular "technical inspections", you can significantly extend the service life. So what can be done:

  • Immediately replace the screws securing the body with longer ones, complete them with locknuts. If this is not done, the bolts will loosen and break the stem.
  • Inspect the pump once a month, disassemble and rinse when pumping contaminated water.
  • When operating with a hydraulic accumulator, set the minimum pressure.
  • Install dry-running protection.
  • Apply voltage through the stabilizer.

Some of the activities are costly. For example, a stabilizer costs about the same or even more than this pump, but it can be used with other types, and they will all work better with a stable voltage. But changing the bolts is the key point that needs to be done.
