Choosing a night light in the nursery
Dim, soft room lighting at night will dispel children's fears. The choice of a children's night light depends on the age of the child, as well as on his character. Lamps for very little ones are selected by parents, but it is better to consult with grown-up children at least about the figure they want.

While the child is small, he is not afraid of the dark and lighting is needed, rather, for the mother. It is inconvenient to look after the baby in the dark, the overhead light in the middle of the night is also not an option, and the soft diffused lighting from a low-power light bulb allows you to navigate and does not irritate the eyes.
In this case, bedside lamps that are attached to the bed are convenient. They can be shaped so that they can be attached to the crossbars, sometimes a strong tape is attached to the body, which securely fixes the device to the crossbar of the bed. Another option is a clothespin or bolt connection (usually made of durable plastic).

Most modern night lights do not have incandescent bulbs, but LEDs. They do not heat up, shine for a very long time (thousands of hours), do not break and consume little energy. Therefore, a children's night light in a crib usually runs on batteries. It is convenient and safe. If you turn on the device only for lighting, the battery pack lasts for a long period, and the use of additional functions quickly "consumes" energy.

For convenience, you can have another night light in the nursery - a table lamp. It can be placed near the changing table or in the place where the mother feeds the baby. It can turn on by touch. In early childhood, the child may be afraid of the dark. To make him feel calm, a children's night light is required. One of the most attractive options for children is a luminous toy. It could be some kind of cartoon character, a plush flower, the moon, the sun ... something that your child likes. LEDs are sewn into one of the parts of the toy, which emit a completely dim light. But it is enough for the awakened child to be not afraid.

Among toy bedside lamps, the leader in popularity is the turtle. She is also a projector of the starry sky at the same time. There are holes in its hard shell, through which light comes out, reflected on the ceiling.
Another option is wall lamps in the form of a picture, sun, moon, star, animal ... They can be hung near the bed or on the wall opposite - whichever suits the child.

What is not very convenient - such luminous paintings work from 220 V. Hanging wires are not the best decoration, but they also carry a potential danger, although there are still plenty of wires in a modern home. Nightlights installed directly into an outlet are devoid of this drawback. They are made of translucent plastic, LEDs are built into the body. As long as the device is connected to the network, it glows. There are models with a toggle switch, then the light can be turned on at will.

Many of the nightlights have an internal battery that provides them with a glow for 12-18 hours (different models vary). These toys can have a charger base or can be charged via a USB cable. It is more convenient than changing batteries, but you cannot forget about charging, otherwise your baby will be left in the dark and may get scared.

Additional functions
In addition to the main function - lighting - even the smallest device can have a number of additional features. Most often it is music. Several melodies that are included forcibly (with a button) or automatically. When the music is automatically turned on, the device is triggered by crying, the lullaby is turned on. The music turns off some time after the crying stops.
The second option is a projector. Moving or still images appear on the ceiling. By looking at them, the child can fall asleep on their own.
There are also children's nightlights with built-in thermometers and hygrometers (humidity meters). For small children, the normal state of the air is very important and the ability to control its parameters is far from overkill. The child should not be overheated or overcooled and a thermometer will help here. With excessively dry air, the mucous membrane dries up in children, crusts form in the nose, which greatly interfere with the baby. "Getting" these crusts is one of the most unpleasant procedures for babies. By normalizing moisture, you keep them to a minimum.
It may be helpful to adjust the light intensity. It can be implemented in different ways - in the simpler versions as a regulator, in the more sophisticated ones there can be tactile adjustment (by touching the fingers).
